We’ve known for some time, like tens of millions of Americans, that CNN is a pathetic ‘news’ network in the tank for Democrats and especially certain Democrats, like Bill and Hillary Clinton.
But the network’s correspondents continue to play the role of Democrat propagandists even when it doesn’t have to because, well, they just can’t help themselves.
In recent days, you may have heard that Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, a 2020 Democratic presidential contender, a major in the Hawaii National Guard and an Iraq war veteran, along with the Green Party’s Jill Stein, took on Hillary Clinton after claiming they were both “Russian assets” simply because they agree with President Trump’s efforts to pull American troops out of Syria.
Mind you, when Obama put them in Syria (with Clinton’s backing), they were only supposed to be there for a short period of time — like a month. But that month went by, then another, then another, and pretty soon years had passed: Obama left office, Trump beat Hillary, but there we were with U.S. troops still in Syria.
That said, Clinton — like most of the rest of Washington’s political elite — is a globalist who doesn’t mind sacrificing someone else’s sons, daughters, husbands, and wives to spread U.S. colonialism to places were it is not wanted.
As for Syria, that’s pretty much been Russia’s playground for decades — since the Cold War, in fact, when Syria was a Soviet client state. Since then, Russia has sent troops to help Syrian President Assad battle separatists and rebels, signed a 50-year lease on a major naval base on the Mediterranean Sea, and based fighter jets and other aircraft and military assets in the country.
Yet, somehow, if you’re an American who wants American troops out of a Russian client state, you’re a Russian stooge.
“I’m not making any predictions, but I think they’ve got their eye on somebody who is currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate,” Clinton said last week in what was an obvious reference to Gabbard.
“She’s the favorite of the Russians. They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far. And that’s assuming Jill Stein will give it up, which she might not because she’s also a Russian asset.”
Frankly, such claims are beyond stupid. But she’s Hillary Clinton so she gets to make them because she is seldom challenged by the Left-wing ‘mainstream’ media.
As for Gabbard, she has repeatedly denied she would run a ‘centrist’ campaign as a third-party candidate. She’s from deep blue Hawaii; even considering a run as something other than a deep blue Left-wing Democrat in that state would mean she’d be out of a job.
And just like there was never any evidence linking President Trump to Russia, similarly there is no evidence linking Gabbard or Stein to Moscow, either (though there’s plenty of evidence, conversely, linking Clinton both to Russia and to Ukraine during the 2016 election cycle).
Enter CNN, the Clinton News Network. They fell all over themselves attempting to justify Hillary’s outrageous BS and unsubstantiated claims.
“Russian ‘assets’ are not formal relationships in the USIC [US Intelligence Community] sense of the word,” CNN analyst and former FBI agent Asha Rangappa said via Twitter. “If you are parroting Russian talking points and furthering their interests, you’re a source who is too dumb to know you’re being played to ask for money.”
“It’s important to point out here that a Russian ‘asset’ is not the same thing as a Russian ‘agent’,” tweeted establishment narrative manager Caroline Orr of the National Observer. “An asset can be witting or unwitting; it’s any person or org who can be used to advance Russia’s interests. It’s pretty clear that Tulsi satisfies that criteria.”
Whatever.
