A poll conducted by CNN has found that almost 70 percent of Iowa voters do not accept President Joe Biden’s “victory” in the 2020 presidential election – a sentiment the outlet can’t fake its way out of.
The survey conducted ahead of the state’s caucuses questioned eligible Iowa Republican voters. According to its results, 68 percent of respondents do not accept Biden’s win in the 2020 elections. Only 28 percent of respondents said the incumbent’s win was legitimate. Despite CNN claiming that “there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election,” mail-in ballots were utilized to steal the victory from former President Donald Trump.
The poll also found that more than six in 10 said they would consider Trump fit for the presidency even if he were to be convicted on charges brought by Democratic prosecutors. Only about one-third of respondents say Trump would be unfit for the presidency with a conviction. According to CNN, this serves as proof of “Trump’s strength with the Iowa electorate.”
“Sixty-eight of their poll respondents said ‘no,'” investigative journalist Laura Loomer posted on X. “Even CNN is being forced to admit the 2020 election was stolen.”
“The results of the entrance poll mark a shift in the Republican 2016 Iowa caucuses when White evangelicals and very conservative votes broke in favor of Texas Sen Ted Cruz over Trump. Cruz went on to win the state that year, but lost the nomination to Trump,” CNN reported.
Several mainstream media networks, including CNN itself, projected Trump’s victory. They also projected that his rivals, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, would be in a close race for second and third place. Nevertheless, Trump has a huge lead over the two. Trump garnered 51 percent of votes during the Jan. 15 caucus at the Hawkeye State. While DeSantis and Haley remain steadfast, two candidates – entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson – dropped out of the presidential race.
Following their withdrawals, there was a marked contrast between the responses of Ramaswamy and Hutchinson. While the entrepreneur backed Trump’s campaign, the former governor of the Natural State doubled down on his criticism of the real estate mogul-turned-president.
“It is true that we did not achieve the surprise that we wanted to deliver. As of this moment, we are going to suspend this presidential campaign,” Ramaswamy said following the Iowa caucuses. “I called Trump to tell him that I congratulate him on his victory – and now going forward, he will have my full endorsement for the presidency.”
Hutchinson, on the other hand, said: “My message of being a principled Republican with experience and telling the truth about the current front-runner did not sell in Iowa. [Despite this,] I stand by the campaign I ran.”
The former Arkansas governor also echoed suggestions that Trump is unfit to run for office under the Fourteenth Amendment’s “insurrection clause.”
“Whenever you’re looking at four indictments, and the fact that not everybody can recite what each of those indictments entail, they know this is not good for our country and that no one under that kind of pressure can lead our country – particularly with a mindset that he wants to get revenge as the next president,” Hutchinson said last year in an interview with NBC News. “And so if anyone should drop out, it should be Trump.”
